National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year. The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896.
At VITALIA Senior Residences® at Strongsville Strongsville, OH our Director of Wellness is very caring and always looks out for the residents’ best interest. Beth goes above and beyond to help teach and lead her team. Residents would say she is always willing to help, whether it’s just sitting and talking or teaching.
When it comes to the wellness team, residents consider them prompt and caring. I am proud of them for their work as a unit and their reliability. During the COVID-19 pandemic the wellness team showed up to work and never complained.
I want to give a shout out to all the nurses at Vitalia Strongsville to say thank you for being you and for all that you do! To recognize them during National Nurses Week, I will be giving each nurse a personalized card for something they did in our community.
