Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville Prepares for Warmer Weather

Category: Senior Living

Author: Noel Drach, Plant Operations Director

As our homes go through the freeze and thaw cycles, it is important that we take valuable and proactive steps to prevent issues. Due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis, the northern hemisphere begins to see the winter-scape come back to life with daffodils blooming, grass greening, and temperatures warming during late March into early April. As exciting as that can be, so many things need to be done to prepare for the warmer season, including spring cleaning, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors tested, and filters changed.

My first activity is always leaf clean up. Leaves accumulate in the corners of my property, blowing in from the nearby woods. It’s amazing how many bags I collect in the spring.

My next project is washing windows and siding. Living and working near state routes really throws dirt, grime, and dust on the exterior of the house and community. Power washing with Krud Kutter soap is very effective in fighting dirt. Also, I find the activity very satisfying.

Bringing back out the outdoor furniture also is enjoyable. It’s a friendly reminder summer is coming and will be here soon. Living in NE Ohio you never know when the weather will give us our first perfect weather day. I’d rather get chores done early, so I’m ready for that first hot, sunny day.

Summer toys need attention too. Bikes need cleaned and looked over to be ready for hundreds of summer miles. And kayaks need pressure washed, along with life jackets that go with them.

Before you break out the patio furniture and start planting your gardens, you might want to be like the experts at Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville and get your home ready for a headache-free season.
