Each year, I select a Word of the Year—a meaningful word that guides my personal and professional focus. As the Executive Director at Vitalia Strongsville in Strongsville, Ohio, the start of a new year provides the perfect opportunity to reset, refocus, and prepare for challenges and opportunities ahead. Reflecting on 2024, I am truly amazed by the impact my Word of the Year had on shaping our community and fostering growth.
The Word of the Year for 2024 was collaboration. Our team discovered the power of coming together as a unified community to achieve our goals. By working collectively, we broke down barriers often created when responsibilities fall on one individual. Collaboration proved to be a more effective and meaningful way to accomplish tasks.
This word profoundly influenced our decisions, strengthened relationships, and supported growth throughout the year. It helped us build a stronger leadership team and fostered a greater sense of unity. By embracing collaboration, we demonstrated our commitment to making thoughtful, collective decisions while achieving significant progress for the benefit of residents and employees alike.
