Arrow Senior Living is known for doing things a little differently and challenging the status quo within the industry. It’s just who we are! Even with all the technological conveniences of today such as social media and websites, it is still common to meet individuals with a skewed perception of what senior living looks like. In this blog, I want to share my senior living journey, why I remain committed to the industry, the biggest myth I believe exists, and how to help others overcome the myths surrounding our beautiful Vitalia Strongsville community and services.
Fifteen years ago, I began my career in senior living in sales. After a decade in that role, I realized I wanted to contribute more to enhancing the environment for seniors living in communities. Despite enjoying the sales aspect of assisting seniors in finding the right place to live, I desired deeper involvement in operations. When the Executive Director position opened at Vitalia Strongsville five years ago, I embarked on my journey as Executive Director.
The residents and the team are what drive me to the community daily. Strongsville boasts an incredible team whom I rely on consistently, while the residents bring joy and laughter to our days.
A prevalent myth about senior living is the belief that it leads to a loss of independence. Quite the contrary, we actively promote maintaining as much independence as possible while helping where needed.
To dispel this myth, we encourage prospective residents and families to immerse themselves in our community. They’re welcome to attend events and engage with current residents. Additionally, we recommend following our Facebook page to stay updated on our daily activities. Lastly, we encourage residents to complete a social profile, allowing our team to understand their preferences even before they move in.
