VITALIA Senior Residences® at Strongsville Plant Operations Allows No Slip Ups With Building Safety

Building Safety Month takes place in May every year and is internationally recognized for raising awareness in keeping buildings safe.

This initiative unites industries, associations, academia, and government under a common goal to protect the public by creating a safe and resilient environment. Our primary focus as the Plant Operations Team at VITALIA Senior Residences® at Strongsville Strongsville, OH is keeping our residents, visitors, and staff safe.

There are many tasks we perform to safeguard our community. We use our electrostatic sprayer up to three times a day since the onset of COVID. Our team utilizes wet floor signs when mopping and uses the lockout/tagout system when something breaks, to prevent injury.

As Plant Operations Director I am responsible for both the maintenance of the building and the safety of the residents and staff of Strongsville. My previous career was with the fire department.  I’m most proud that for four years I have had clean bills from the State surveyors, my local and state fire marshal, and the Ohio Department of Health.

I also practice building safety at home by changing the batteries in my smoke detectors regularly, replacing filters in my air conditioning units, and keeping a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.
